The only players NOT at Raiders OTA 2023 are Jimmy Garoppolo, Josh Jacobs, Michael Mayer, OJ Howard, Jakobi Meyers, Justin Herron, Tyree Wilson and Jordan Willis. Josh Jacobs is the only Las Vegas Raider not currently signed. Jacobs was given the franchise tag but has not signed. How much does it hurt not having him at mini camp? Welcome to Episode 172 of the Autumn Windbags LIVE from Shanghai, China! Question of the day, was the Las Vegas Raiders passing problems in 2022 lie with quarterback Derek Carr or head coach Josh McDaniels? The Raiders passing game was not up to par during the 2022 NFL season. Derek Carr put up some of his worst numbers despite having NFL All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller and Pro Bowl slot receiver Hunter Renfrow. Derek Carr was known as a great comeback quarterback. But according to one stat, Jimmy Garoppolo is even BETTER at comebacks than Derek Carr. The stat comes from 4th quarter wins. Tom Brady leads the category. In Las Vegas Raiders news, Raiders owner Mark Davis announced that Future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady will be a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. The Tom Brady Las Vegas Raiders relationship is the question. ESPN did their NFL Power Index Rankings. The Raiders did not do well: W/L 7.6/9.3 #24 Playoff probability 21.4% #28 Win Division probability 7.2% #30 Make Divisional Round 9% #28 Make Conference Championship 2.9% #27 Make SuperBowl 1.1% #27 Win SuperBowl .4% #27 Bleach Report listed the number one area of concern for all 32 NFL teams. The writer chose the Raiders offensive line. With so many issues all over the defense, why is o-line the biggest area of concern? The Raiders line played better as the season went on. In What Up, Windbags, should the Chargers be the Raiders biggest rival, Aidan O'Connell getting Derek Carr #4 jersey and can the Raiders continue to own the Broncos?

Welcome to episode 170 of The Autumn Windbags! The question of the day, which Raider will be the biggest surprise this season? Soto says Tre Tucker. RJ says Jermaine Eleumunor. NFL draft second round tight end Michael Mayer, NFL All Pro Davante Adams and NFL rushing leader Josh Jacobs were also discussed. Basically all players on the Raiders 53 man roster are on the squad. The Windbags think Alex Bars and Jermaine Eluemunor's positions could be up in the air. Michael Mayer should start. On defense, Maxx Crosby, Chandler Jones and Tyree Wilson need to all be on the field as much as possible. If Nate Hobbs stays at slot then the Raiders are in the market for two starting corners. Raiders lineman Thayer Munford spoke about how much Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones helped him get better. The Raiders Schedule 2023 gets released this week. We know the home and away games along with opponents but not when they play. The Raiders schedule will have three home and away games against the rest of the AFC West: Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs. The Raiders play the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings away and the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions at home from the NFC North. The Raiders play the New England Patriots and New York Jets at home and Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins away from the AFC East. The Raiders also play the NFC East third place New York Giants at home, AFC North third place team Pittsburgh Steelers at home and away at the Indianapolis Colts. In LV Raiders news, former Raiders tight end Foster Moreau signed a deal with the New Orleans Saints. The tight end was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma this year and just got a great prognosis. Henry Ruggs III will plead guilty and get three to ten years in Nevada state prison. Bo Jackson has chronic hiccups. In What Up, Windbags, can Josh McDaniels do anything other than the Patriot Way?, the profitability of the Mark Davis haircut and ground zero for the joke.

Welcome to episode 169 of The Autumn Windbags! A Raiders fan held up a sign during the 2023 NFL Draft that appeared on ESPN made a hilarious joke about Josh McDaniels the Windbags have never heard of. So the question of the day, what is the best insult you've ever heard? Peter King was inside the Raiders draft room with Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler and left with some big Raiders news. The great access gave Raider Nation a unique view of what went on. Read the article here: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/05/01/nfl-draft-2023-raiders-texans-cj-stroud-peter-king-fmia/ The Raiders had four targets for pick number 7: Paris Johnson, Will Anderson, Devon Witherspoon and Tyree Wilson. Another observation, the Raiders had an option to trade down from number 7 and got number 12 and 33 which means the Raiders would not have had to trade back up to get tight end Michael Mayer. Peter King documented Josh McDaniels call to his first round pick Tyree Wilson. McDaniels told Wilson what to say about his foot injury, what to say to the media and how happy Raider nation is to have him. Mark Davis reiterated his positive feelings about Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler. The Raider draft picks 2023 scored pretty well with the media. Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer pick was universally loved. Edge rusher Tyree Wilson pick was highly regarded as well. Tre tucker, Byron young, Jakorian Bennett picks came with mixed reviews. Mike Mayock said Jon Gruden had final say with all draft picks, he took responsibility for the Clelin Ferrell pick, Derek Carr's trade value after the 2021 NFL season and why he thought Rich Bisaccia should've got the head coaching job. In What Up, Windbags, judging Tyree Wilson's draft outfit, pressures vs sacks and heaping praise on us.

2023 NFL Draft Best/Worst Case Scenario, Dave Ziegler and Raiders Draft Strategy
Wednesday Apr 26, 2023
Wednesday Apr 26, 2023
Welcome to episode 167 of The Autumn Windbags! It is the 2023 NFL Draft extravaganza show! The guys discuss how much the pre-draft media coverage is over the top and all misinformation. Agents, general managers and coaches are all trying to push their narrative to raise or drop draft picks' value. Question of the day, with the 7th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders select ... ? Let's us know in the comments section. The 2023 NFL Draft will be new Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler's first time picking a player in the first round. What is the worst case scenario for his pick? Soto and RJ think its not being able to trade down at number 7 and picking an offensive lineman. What is the best case scenario? This is Dave Ziegler's chance to shine. The guys want the Raiders to trade down, get an impact defensive player and still pick up Hendon Hooker late in the first round. Soto's favorite Raiders mock draft 2023 comes from The Athletic. In this mock draft the Raiders pick Oregon cornerback Christian Gonzalez and trade up to pick 30 and get Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker. This will be the first time Dave Ziegler has a full draft at his disposal. What can we learn from Dave Ziegler's interviews about what his draft strategy will be? In What Up, Windbags, the guys discuss why pets love RJ but babies don't, drafting a quarterback late and Beerfest quotes.

Raiders Biggest Needs by Position, Josh Jacobs Contract Worries, Raiders News
Wednesday Apr 19, 2023
Wednesday Apr 19, 2023
Welcome to episode 166 of The Autumn Windbags! Question of the Day, what is the Raiders biggest need heading into the 2023 NFL Draft? It can be whatever "biggest need" means to you. RJ's biggest needs are as follows: 1. Cornerback - Nate Hobbs regressed and he should be in the slot anyway. Need two starting corners but at least have some depth. 2. Defensive Tackle - Neil Farrell and Matthew Butler couldn’t get playing time on a trash defense. Nichols and Tillery are place holders. Why’d we let Andrew Billings go? If this group can get their shit together the rest of the squad will look better. 3. Linebacker - Spillane and Masterson are cast off back ups while Divine Deablo hasn’t developed but has some potential. 4. Quarterback - Jimmy Garoppolo is a placeholder and always gets hurt. If you don't have a franchise QB, you are looking for one. 5. Safety - Trevon Moehrig regressed in his second year and he’s the only thing close to a starter on the squad. 6. Tight end - Austin Hooper and OJ Howard on cheap, one year deals. Only reason this isn’t higher is the rest of our skill position players at tits. 7. Defensive end - God bless you, Maxx Crosby. Chandler Jones is staying for at least one more season. Malcom Koonce is not developing like we hoped. 8. Guard - Alex Bars is the weak link and Dylan Parham is likely headed to center at some point. 9. Center - Andre James for now. Need depth. 10. Tackle - Kolton Miller is a rock. Jermaine Eluemunor's job to lose on the right side. 11. Running Back - Does any team need six running backs? Only issue is did no other RB’s get time because Josh Jacobs was so good or because they suck? 12. Wide Receiver - Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, Jakobi Meyers. One of the best wide receiver rooms in football. Depth is an issue with mostly undrafted/practice squad guys fitting a specific niche. 13. Punter - AJ Cole is a two time Pro Bowler. 14. Kicker - Daniel Carlson is the best kicker in the NFL. Shove it, Justin Tucker. The value of looking at mock drafts is picking up trends and seeing value of general positions. Soto has seen over 50 2023 NFL Mock Drafts and this one is his favorite: https://theathletic.com/4413880/2023/04/17/nfl-7-rounds-mock-draft-2023/ The Raiders pick Devon Witherspoon, Trenton Simpson, Sam Laporta, Colby Wooden, Aidan O’Connell, AT Perry, Jordan Battle, Jon Gaines II, Ryan Hayes, Chris Rodriguez. Purdue quarterback Aidan O'Connell looks just like Landfill from Beef Fest. In LV Raiders news, NFL Pro Bowl running back Josh Jacobs has NOT signed his franchise tag. How worried should Raider Nation be? Raiders rumors point to University of Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker is the number three quarterback on Raiders general Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels draft board. Antonio Brown Raiders wide receiver briefly, explains why he fell out with Tom Brady. 2023-24 NFL Season schedule rankings are out. The Raiders schedule is the fourth toughest in football. In What Up, Windbags, how high should Anthony Richardson go, do the Raiders draft a quarterback this season or next and are we too picky about defensive players?
